My Favourite Things: The Angel Brush

... Bright copper kettles and chewy toothbrushes...

As moms we all have those things (objects, products, inventions, etc) that we love and that save time or money and make life easier and more enjoyable. Here is one of mine:  The Angel Brush.

The Angel Brush, or Baby's First Toothbrush,  is a little silicone brush that is perfect for a baby or toddler to chew on.  It has bristles on all three sides that come in contact with the entire tooth or gum surface, brushing upper and lower at the same time as the child bites down.

Here are some official features of the Angel Brush:
  • 100% food-grade silicone
  • Cleans all three sides of teeth
  • Massaging bristles
  • Can be used when teething
  • Reduces harmful bacteria
  • Free of Bisphenol-A (BPA) and PVC

Teethin' Ruby
My baby is teething (unproductively!) and I find this little thing is just what the doctor (dentist?) ordered.  I can hook it to some links and attach it to her exersaucer and she just chews away on it, happily.  You can also string it through a soother clip and attach it to baby herself - great for when you're on the go.  Oh, and put it in the fridge or freezer! I've used the Angel Brush (or "Chewy" as we prefer to call it) with both my kids and they loved it.

I also found that this little gem was particularly helpful when my oldest daughter was two years old.  You see, with little Chewy the child can brush her teeth ALL BY HERSELF.  I'm sure that those of you who have ever brushed the teeth of a toddler are smiling right now.  And nodding.  You just dab a little toddler-friendly toothpaste on it (or not) and away they chew.  Of course, I'm sure you'll get in there and make sure they're getting all the nooks and crannies when you can but, honestly, we have to pick our battles, right?

Anyway,  the Angel Brush is great.  You can get it at pretty much any baby store or on or off-line for around 7 bucks.  Cheap like borscht.

So, when the dog bites and bee stings I take comfort in the fact that, at the very least, my little teether's gums are getting a soothing massage and a good cleaning. And I look forward to avoiding toddler tooth-brushing skirmishes in the future.  And I have an awesome and helpful go-to item for an emergency baby shower gift.  Nice.

Disclaimer: Nobody pays me to say this and I don't get any free swag or anything.  I just like this stuff. Period.

  6. I had one of these for two of my wee ones and they both loved them. Especially when they were teething. They really liked it when I put in the fridge to get a little cold.
